A Brief History of Coral Reef Management

While it’s best to prevent damage to reefs before it happens, this isn’t possible or practical in many situations due to global issues. Hence, this lesson will explore passive and active restoration methods, both of which are crucial for preserving our reefs in the face of climate change and increased human activity.

We’ll also talk about how Marine Protected Areas are a great start but aren’t a complete solution for conserving reefs. The importance of more proactive steps to strengthen resilience and maintain the function or diversity of reefs will also be highlighted.
