This course is designed to give experienced divers a deeper understanding of coral reefs, and the important roles which giant clams play within them.
Through this part of this academic portion of the course, you will learn the theory and practical considerations of monitoring and restoring giant clam populations where necessary.
After completing this course, you will know how to collect data, identify giant clams, and restore populations to a standard that will allow you to contribute to local management efforts. You will learn how to identify the different species of giant clams on coral reefs, and explain what threats to clams are present and how these affect populations.
